North Shore Bugs

At North Shore Bugs, we bring live, locally caught lobsters straight from our boat, Risky Business, to our local farmers' market on the North Shore in Rockport, Ma. When you shop with us, you’re not just getting the freshest catch, you’re supporting local lobstermen!

You can find us each week at farmers markets in Rockport, Gloucester, Ipswich, and more! Just follow the smell of salt air and the sign that says LIVE LOBSTERS.

You will pay at our booth located within the market, then bring your ticket to our refrigerated box truck parked close by to pick up your lobsters when you are ready. This way, you can shop and enjoy the market without rushing.

This method keeps the lobsters chilled at the ideal temperature, minimizing handling and reducing stress on the bugs.

"Bugs” might sound like something you squash, not something you steam, but around here, bugs is just a nickname for lobsters. With their little legs, antennae, and armored shells, they look a lot like big sea bugs. Delicious, buttery ones!

So when you see North Shore Bugs, just know you’re getting local lobsters, dockside humor, and a name that makes you smile.

We liked the nickname so much, we even named one of our dogs Bugs! The other, Echo ( who is really in charge of all of us). These two are the four-legged crew behind the scenes, always supervising.
